That depends on your location. If the fiber is already inside, you’re usually online within a few business days. If it still has to be installed, it takes a little longer. You can see the status of your connection in Mijn OpenFiber.
Often you connect the equipment yourself using the included guide. If a technician is needed, for example to bring the fiber inside or for the handover, we’ll schedule an appointment where someone must be present.
Connect the fiber modem to the fiber outlet (the FTU) and link your router to the modem with a network cable. After a few minutes the lights are steady and you’re online. If you use your own firewall or router, place it behind our modem.
Restart the equipment: unplug the fiber modem and the router from the power outlet for 10 seconds, then plug them back in. Then check the lights. Often that fixes it.
Test with a network cable connected directly to the router. If the wired connection is fast, the issue is in your WiFi or internal network. Keep in mind that many simultaneous users or demanding applications can affect the speed.
First check the status of your connection in Mijn OpenFiber. If the problem persists, contact our customer service. We handle business outages with priority. If you have a 5G backup, you usually stay online during an outage.
Yes. You place your own router or firewall behind our fiber modem. That way you keep your own network setup and security.
If you use our router, you change the WiFi name and password in Mijn OpenFiber. After a change, reconnect your devices.
A static IP address is available for business connections. Contact our customer service and we’ll set this up for you.
As soon as the fiber connection goes down, your connection automatically switches to the mobile network (5G), and switches back once the fiber is restored. You don’t have to do anything yourself.
The switch-over is automatic. In Mijn OpenFiber you can see the status of your connection and whether the backup is active. If you’d like to have it tested, get in touch with us.
The backup keeps your essential applications running, such as card payments, telephony, and email. The speed depends on the mobile coverage at your location and may be lower than your fiber connection.
You manage the phone system yourself through the admin portal: users and devices, call forwarding, opening hours, call menus, and voicemail. Changes take effect right away.
Yes. You can bring your existing landline number(s) with you; we take care of the number porting. You can also add a new number, geographic or national (085). Let us know through our customer service.
Our telephony is VoIP (calling over the internet). Combined with the 5G backup, you stay reachable even during a fiber outage. You can set up call forwarding so that calls go to a mobile number if the connection drops.
All your invoices are in Mijn OpenFiber. There you can view and download them whenever you want.
You change your account number and direct debit preferences in Mijn OpenFiber. A change takes effect from the next direct debit.
You manage your contact person and details in Mijn OpenFiber, or you can pass them on to our customer service.
The contract terms are set out in your agreement. Questions about renewal or cancellation? Contact our customer service and we’ll look into it together.
